I went to one recently, everybody apart from me had parents with them. I think parents are interested in where you might go, seems on programmes i've seen that they tend to expect a good proportion of parents to come and sometimes run seperate talks etc. for them while other things directly involving students may be going on.

I'm the same. I dunno, i just find it awkward socialising with new people when your parents are there lol. If they're not, its no problem.
Lool yeah it's almost like you can't be yourself...

hmm.. I went to Leicester last saturday also...I was one of few parent-less individuals...how did you find it anyway.
I thought the university was pretty good, and I liked the department a lot, but I thought the actual city was a bit empty - I probably passed about 25 people on my way back to the railway station.
I also thought the accomodation was a bit far out, but I do have a bike (and it seems there are quite a few cycle lanes)

That's how I felt, the course and everything was good but the town is boring.
I stayed over the whole weekend with my sister and we went out and stuff I was just like :bored:
