    Yowch. At mine you only don't get it if the absence is unauthorised, and to authorise it all you have to do is email in and say "I'm ill today".

    Hmm, I suppose so.

    But, if it is a general appointment, it's pretty likely that the doctor would provide a note, if it was needed.
