Oh ok I did not know that! I've removed it - if you could take it out of the quoted bit too then? Haha I know I wasn't impressed, you can definitely use the same script for both though. They didn't say how long, mine were pretty short tbh - about 1200-1500 words :s

    These are the speeches:

    http://www.shakespeare-monologues.org/plays/33?g=2

^although they want a slightly longer cut- up to "the future in the instant"

    http://www.shakespeare-monologues.org/plays/17?g=2

    http://www.shakespeare-monologues.org/plays/8?g=2

and one from As You Like It, which I'm pretty sure it was this one-

Ok, so I have to choose a play from that list and then choose a monologue from the ones given for that play?

Alright, you mean to add as the optional piece of creative writing, yeah? OK.

    Thank you

Oh gosh the links randomly take you to the menu! The options are 4 speeches:

-Lady Macbeth -'The raven himself..' to 'the future in the instant'
-Hermione, The Winter's Tale -'Sir spare your threats..' to 'Apollo be my judge'
-Viola, Twelfth Night -'I left no ring with her..' to 'Too hard a knot for me to untie'
-Rosalind, As You Like It -'And why, I pray you?..' to 'So take her to thee, shepherd. Fare you well.'

    Sorry about that!

Oh I forgot to ask - did you have to audition for York too or was that just the work and an interview?

Also, I think I've decided to do Rosalind's monologue from As You Like It as it looks like the most interesting and fun! Which did you choose?

Realise that I have the highest possible offers for both courses, don't know if it's because I don't do maths at AS or maybe my application was bad - who knows.

Awesome I did Viola's from Twelfth Night, I already knew it as I'd just done Twelfth Night (although I was Olivia, so mildly confusing for me!) Regarding York there isn't an audition as such, they do a kind of group workshop with a play extract. Hope I've been useful Good luck with UEA and York Let me know how you get on!
