Art then not other tough phones available?
The motorola defy is supposed to be pretty durable, scratch proof, 'splash proof (not summersion proof though - very careful about sneaking that in!)

I looked at it after i'd ruined TWO iPhones with the toilet treatment.

You can drop it onto concrete from two metres up

    It floats in water :cool::cool:

You can cycle over it :cool::cool:

    and it still won't break.

What's more it has the legendary black and yellow JCB colour scheme

This might be just what I need. Is it 3G? Will my 3 sim work in it? Where can I get one?

I'll buy you one for christmas if you do the same for me.

I think, i'm just incredibly clumsy. I was drunk the second time so i'm not sure it counts, but, within the space of 4 months, I managed to fill 2 iPhones with wee. Somehow, my phone insurance were fine with my behaviour and paid out.
I've switched to Android now anyway - for the record, much better off

Looking at the specs it says:

    Water/Dust resistant
    Certified to IP54
    Military Specification
    One Tonne Pressure Tested
    2m Drop Tested
    Bluetooth
    FM Radio
    Torch
    Laser Pointer
    JCB Start-up Screen Ringtone
    2 Year Warranty

so doesn't look like 3g stuff to me but maybe ask

looks like you can buy it online atm

"GSM compatible (excludes '3' in the UK)"

is what their website says. And they should know. Never mind.

"Its well known that your typical iphone owner believes apple invented a lot of the features the iphone possesses like apps, a touch screen, web browsers on mobile phones etc. Apple really don’t mind this, in fact they want you to think they are cutting edge, even if they are not. When MMS and copy and paste finally came to the iphone many people were convinced Apple had invented them.

It’s also well known by those of us who have been using decent phones for a while now that these features have been available on plenty of smart phones years before the iphone came out."
Also with the facetime I remember a 3G Motorola having a similar feature which my granddad and grandma used to use. Ok I admit it was pretty crap but it was there nonetheless.
You've also got to bear in mind that apple did greatly improve some if not all of these features.

Unfortunately JCB can't see the wood for the trees. What's the point having a tough phone when its electronics fail so often and therefore has serious reliability issues. Soon it becomes a tough plastic box and that's all.

Wow you can get one for 75 pounds. Would be worth getting just to keep in the pool on holiday. Last year twice my mum had to throw my phone at me. Once I had to strain my back just to catch it and the other time it smashed on the side. Thankfully I was due an upgrade when I got back.

I use my phone a lot on holiday because my dad gets me this bolt on. Would love that phone to keep with me. Not to mention anytime I go somewhere rugged where I don't need my IPhone apps.

      *Blackberry

lol BlackBerry are the poor mans smartphone, the only good thing about "BB" is BB messenger and that annoying noise it makes when you get a message and people on the bus refuse to put it on silent even though they have it in their hand grrrrr

I've never had any problems with mobile phones but due to my job (engineering) my company provided us with brand new JCBs, I've changed three within 8 months due to reliability issues, phone going dead for no reason, switch off in the middle of a conversation although I had enough battery, screen going blank while phone was still on etc etc and without having any "accidents" with it. My colleagues have similar problems.

I've seen one before, we were chucking it on the floor, jumping on it and so on. But it was damn ugly. Plus who does that to their phone anyway?
