My grandma was nearly 40 when she had my mum, after her youngest was 12. So its pretty clear my mum was an accident. But she was the longed for daughter, she was loved so it doesn't matter.

There's a big difference between telling a child they were an accident, and telling them they were a mistake.

I assumed I was an accident until someone mentioned in a conversation once that I was my mums idea and my dad just went along with it for her until I was actually born. my life didn't change with that knowlage

I don't see the problem. Just because you weren't 'planned' doesn't mean you're less loved or valued by your parent(s).

Obviously when they are old enough but yeah why not. Me and my brother always wind our mother up about us being "mistakes". It doesn't bother us in the slightest.

I assume you mean the conception was an accident... it'd be hard to give birth, just you know, inadvertently

edit: I was told I was an accident(which is very different from a mistake, take note) a few years ago. It didn't bother me then, nor does it bother me now
