I hear some guys say (paraphrasing)
"It's not just about the looks you know, the personality is equally, if not more important than the looks" "A girl with an ugly personality is a huge turn off".
I'd probably take her home but would call her a cab after the deed was done.

    .

from the title I thought this was going to be about things like chuggers or other street pesterers - cos tbh I'll talk to an attractive female chugger but ruthlessly cockblock any males coming at me with a clipboard.
Sorry to have lowered your expectations

    Danielle Lloyd is aesthetically pleasing.
Racism is a bad personality trait.
Editors of magazines felt that racists would put men off buying their magazines, which are essentially softcore porn. If they were right, then personality is just as important as looks. Pretty racists and non-racist munters are equivalent to magazine editors. I think this is very relevant.
Since when is being a racist a personality trait? I'm a libertarian but that's hardly my personality, is it?

    Okay I'll elaborate.
I feel that a lot of men could actually put up with a HOT girl's 'rotten apple' behaviour; men could be far more tolerant to a v.attractive woman's behaviour. Her looks could be the sole reason to why you're together.

    Example? Okay this woman.

If she doesn't tickle your fancy. Picture yourself dating the most attractive looking celebrity/girl in your eyes. Let's say she was a real ***** and you couldn't stand her, would the fact that you'll be tapping her every night be a good reason to stay the her?

I may just be talking out of my arse. I'm just curious.
If I was pounding her every night, the fact she was hot would definitely help me put up with her being a ***** ( I have actually experienced this). It wouldn't make me put up with her being annoying if I wasn't sleeping with her, however.

it's all well and good posting 'hot girl' photos and saying that's your hypothetical girlfriend.

Course in a real girlfriend situation you've also got to look at them when the hairs a disaster area and the make up's not on yet - so a likable personality is going to be helpful for getting you through those times.

We are more tolerant of beauty because, to quote Jon Lajoie, "We can't have sex with your personality."

You're arguing semantics, which has no bearing on the point being made. Danielle Lloyd was involved in racist bullying on national tv. Many think this means she's a nasty person.

Apologies if you're a friendly, non-bullying racist and was offended by me lumping you in with Ms. Lloyd.

Lol I'm not a racist but I think you are in error. Suppose you started calling me a dirty little libertarian who wants to kill off the poor. Would that viewpoint suddenly mean it was part of my personality? Somehow I think not.

Lesson learned: personality is not about the beliefs you have (e.g. 'white people are inherently better than black people') but the way you act and respond etc.

To answer the OP question then yes more tolerance, but in a limited way, if a girl was not as good looking and then starts displaying negative personality traits then you would just discontinue the liaison. If she was particularly hot then you might file her away in your mind as "not a long term option" but continue enjoying the sexual benefits until she became too annoying. The enjoyment gained from sex with any girl has diminishing returns over time and tends to flatten off, but the annoyance factor will be an increasing function, so there will be some point at which annoyance exceeds the benefits of her physical attractiveness and thats where the guy will end things.

Women do the same with men though, I have heard girls say that they have had sex with a guy on a casual basis on the grounds that he is hot, even if they've learned enough about him to know that they aren't compatible in the sense of a longer term relationship, whereas if the girl isn't as physically attracted to him, she would just think there was no point carrying on seeing him for just the sex.

If I said that with no basis in reality, then I would be a tw*t. But if your belief was the poor should be killed off, then you would be a tw*t. That's my belief. Feel free to think I'm a tw*t.

If a tw*t is a tw*t with nobody around to see him being a tw*t, is he still a tw*t? I think the answer is yes.

I was watching the American Football, it's just ended so it's bedtime for myself now :p:

PhoneShop has taught me many things.

    1) NEVER date a girl who's not high street (I'm not including Waterstones.)
    2) NEVER date a soldier, *****es be crazy.
    3) Sexy can be spelt with three x's, but it should be used with caution.

But seriously, I live and die by the crazy-hot scale. In some instances, I'd even go as far as saying the crazyness of a girl could add to her attractiveness, and there's something about *****y girls that I can't seem to put my finger on, but hell, if she's hot, it almost invariably works.

Everything is subjective, what's crazy for you, may not be for me, and what's hot for me, may not be for you and vice versa, so to talk of these things as if they are absolutes seems silly, but it's the crazy-hot world we live in. What you may term "being a *****/crazy" I prefer to call "high maintainence." :p:

In short, Winona Ryder, she's OK by me.

No. I don't treat the hot ones any different to any other girl....I still base all my relationships on HONESTY, TRUST and RESPECT, and if a girl wants to be with me then those are my rules. No exceptions, no matter how good looking the girl.

I don't place any extra 'value' on a girl's good looks, i.e. they are not entitled to behave badly just because they are good looking.

I have a low tolerance for any kind of bad behaviour and disrespect from women, no matter how good looking they are.

Any guy who tolerates disrespect from a girl just because she's good looking doesn't respect himself, and if he doesn't respect himself then in the long run he's headed to lose with women.

You have to keep disrespectful women in line by putting a stop to the disrespect right away. It doesn't matter how hot the girl is, the same applies.

Personally, hot girls don't do it for me... I like cute, slightly geek ones.

And they always seem to have beautiful personalities <3
