but theres one thing i dont totally understand about the peep show. why there is components which are absurd sometimes. like scenes that are too disgusting like the one of the dog, etc. do you think that there is a purpose for it? what is it exactly?

Anyone else crack up at Johnson's comments? Got a couple of gems haha

"Can you put a lid on the squid?"

"Just you, me, some Chinese food and a couple of **** off spreadsheets "

"Nice office, Corrigan. I've got a 32-inch plasma in mine. You bring a document up on that baby and you are seriously looking at that document."

    Hilarious.

I’m creating this thread here because I feel that it has to do with
ideology, no entertainment, but no problem if it gets moved.

/// Do you think that the Peep Show is good for society?

/// Is it an example for people to follow or, on the contrary, an example
of what you are better off avoiding?

I’d guess it’s the second case, but I’d like to know what all of you guys
    think about it.
I think you're looking way too much into it. It's simply a snapshot of a subculture of people, designed to be funny and entertaining. I personally think it is one of the best shows on TV - they capture the lifestyle so perfectly, and ever line, every thought it just... genius. I don't think there are a great deal of morals as such like you're suggesting though, merely things that happen in life.

One might get that impression, but in fact TV is an educational tool. Entertainment
is just a way of getting people’s attention. So, I’ve been wondering what exactly are
    the teachings of this series.

If I interpret it by the effect it has on me the morals seems to “be a cool as them
but avoid making their mistakes” but someone else might perceive it as “don’t act
so cool otherwise you’ll make those mistakes” or “do both the mistakes and
    cool things” or something else.

LOL Isn’t watching the girl you love while another bloke is shagging her, something
    to avoid?!!

Not sure which dog you mean, but if it’s Mumy you’re talking about, I think
the horrible part was made in order to call the genre of the series a type of black comedy.
I didn’t like the gruesome bits. Apart from those, that was a deeply introspective
episode, I think. Jeremy keeps his sin close to himself instead of getting rid of it.
It’s something people do without being aware of it sometimes if they feel guilty
    about something.

Edit: actually the Wikipedia definition of black comedy is obsolete:
black comedy is just a surrealist comedy.

    Love crack.

    Always.
If by that you mean cocaine, I advise you to switch to marijuana tea, which
seems to be actually good for you. Provided that you use it only where it's legal, then
    I think it's a good habit.
