Men traditionally had a lot more power and importance within the marriage, so the wedding day was therefore styled to give special treatment to the woman - her last day of feeling important, her last day of being an innocent virgin, ectr.

Also, nowadays, the whole wedding idea is such a romantic notion that it's obviously going to be considered more important by women. Women want to comment on the dress, the flowers, the decorations, all the girly, romantic, fairytale stuff. There's not much manly about a wedding that the man wants to talk about.

Because marriage is beneficial to the woman, not to men.

So in a sense, it's her day, she's trapped him...she's "won".

The bride is theoretically leaving one family and joining another - hence being 'given away' at the altar. The groom is just accepting the bride into his family.
True.

The wedding has always been the bride's day. Tom is giving me free rein on my wedding day My dad actually worked on his wedding day and told mom to pretty much do whatever she wanted (though he had been married before).

Not a nice way to talk about Kate.
I don´t care about Kate, Maria, Josephine or who ever. no matter which position they might hold.

I refered to the reason why he did not get enough attention. he has no fancy dress, only less hair and he has no boobs.
