As the title says, which actor have you favoured playing 007 ? and why.

Personally I'm quite a big fan of Craig, i like how he has brought a lot of aggression to the role, as well as making the films more realistic. With the right script i think he could be one of best to play Bond.
I think Roger Moore, though that might be because I associate the best Bond Films in the Series with him.

Connery comes a close second, and then Dalton, also because License To Kill was great! And the only 15 in the original 18.

Anyone with sense will choose Connery, Moore and perhaps Craig. In that order.

Pierce Brosnan single-handedly turned the series into a joke, with the over-the-top one liners and insurmountably cheesy dialogue. ****, you Pierce.

EDIT: Egads at the poll results; Brosnan almost tying with Connery? What is this... I don't.... even
He's the actor, not the script-writer.

Isn't that obvious. A lot of people regard Goldeneye as one of the best Bonds. People will have seen more of Brosnan and it is more like modern action movies.
Personally, I despise Brosnan's Bond Films. I recently completed an epic marathon of all the Bonds (sometimes repeating certain films, perhaps even multiple times-- Goldfinger!), and I was decidedly bored and irritated during his term as the agent. His films are easily comparable to the canned **** of Steven Seagal: boring, over-the-top, cheesy dialogue and absurdly unbelievable stunts.

Pierce Brosnan, no doubt about it.
He managed to be the most plausible as he could be very charming and ruthless, where as most came across as some creepy sugar daddy or as dangerous as a kitten.

    Sean Connery was bad ass.

In my opinion, he had the best protrayal of Bond and Pierce Brosnan did a very good job too.

The rest of them were very very different though so I can't say I dislike any.
i agree with u, i dont really like bond films the old ones especially. the only films i think its intereting is the new ones, like die another day. and i think pierce brosnan its the best james bond.

ITT kids that have never seen anything other than the Craig/Brosnan movies vote for them, real people vote for Connery, and the idiots vote for Lazenby and Moore.

I think if Doltan had done more films he'd get my vote, but he's kinda limited by only appearing in two. Licence to Kill is my favourite Bond movie, and it seems to have paved the way for darker and grittier Bond films, which is a good thing.
The great thing about that is ITV show a Bond film every other week, so you get to see all the actors regardless.

That said, Craig is my favourite Bond and Brosnan is my second...

Craig is an amazing actor. But somehow, he's just not JAMES BOND... Everything he's good at seems to be the opposite of Bond's forte...

If by 'best portrayal' you mean he was entertaining and in several great films, yeah.

If you mean it as in him being the most accurate and true to how he was written, nahh. Doltan, Brosnan and Craig are all closer (even if Craig doesn't really look right).

I think it seems to be falling into 3 categories :

The comedic charmer - Roger Moore

The ruthless killers - Craig and Dalton

Or the classic sharp suited, womanizer - Connery/Pierce

( I actually like Brosnan in Goldeneye/Tommorrow never dies, but as it went later on in his series it went to OTT I hate watching Die Another Day.)

I saw Sean Connery in Edinburgh a few years ago and women were STILL wolf-whistling him. What a man

My favourite is Sean Connery, followed by Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig of whom I disliked the first time I saw Casino Royale but upon re-watching several times he comes off quite well

OHMSS has become a cult movie and I thinks that Lazenby is a tad underrated. I remember seeing it at the cinema. It was a very gritty film for its time.

Take a look. It seems to be have been one of the more serious, gritty, no nonsense - all realistic stunts Bond.

While I think Craig is a bit rough for the role, he gives off a smart and sneaky sense. Brosnan is nice, but not as well fitted for the job. My problem with Craig and several others- wittyness! 007 has a clever sense of humor! i hope to find it in the upcoming film!

Yeah, his first two films were amazing but they went downhill, although I thought they went downhill by what they did the Valentin Zukovsky and, of course, the over-the-top pointless GCI effects of Die Another Day.

But the first two always have a special place in my childhood, being the first ones I saw. It's got to be because of the chase scene in Tomorrow Never Dies in the remote control car and the bike chase. Goldeneye obviously stank of awesome.

    Craig.

Even though I grew up watching Brosnan, I've really enjoyed the last couple so much.
