    Pancho Villa's last words:
"Don't let it end like this. Tell them I said something."

If I were feeling more awake, I'd probably invent my own little soundbite here about it being the depth of the quote and not the merit of the person you're quoting. Meh.

    Kurt cobain

“Practice makes perfect, but nobody's perfect, so why practice?”

“Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you.”

“There are a lot of things I wish I would have done, instead of just sitting around and complaining about having a boring life.”

“If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask someone else first.”
I thought that was from Catch 22?

    MLK-

'History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.'

'I submit to you that if a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live.'

'Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.'

And in sport, it has to be Bill Shankly:

'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very
disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more
    important than that.'

'If Everton were playing at the bottom of the garden, I'd pull the curtains'

Albert Camus "I rebel; therefore we exist". This is becoming more and more relevant to the modern world today .

Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.

I can live without money, but I cannot live without love.

If I am a legend, then why am I so lonely?

I have a couple of quotes that I like. I'd also like to think that I'm (in)famous.

'Wishes are the dreams of unbelievers'

'The pursuit of perfection is more important than perfection itself'

'There comes a stage in everyone's life when tomorrow becomes today.'

The Duke of Wellington has some pretty good ones.

For example, while he was Prime Minister, Queen Victoria was complaining to him about the problem of pigeons getting inside the Crystal Palace. His answer was 'Try Sparrowhawks, Ma'am'.
He was never Prime Minister during Queen Victoria's reign and he was last Prime Minister 17 years before the completion of The Crystal Palace [and died shortly thereafter] :facepalm2:

The Spartans do not ask how many but where they are - Agis II of Sparta
I wouldn't advise attempting to take any ideology from actual evidence of Ancient Sparta.

Let's just say that Himmler was a big fan.

As a Lit student, I have to give my vote to Shakespeare, probably one of the few people for which the masses would recognise his quotes straight away.

Coined the iconic line: "Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them" in Twelfth Night.

He writes so beautifully as well, one of my favourite lines from Hamlet: "This above all: to thine own self be true."
