Is a child's right to a mother more important than a gay couple's right to adopt?

The law already recognises the importance of a mother to a child. In any child-custody case, all other things being equal, a mother is given preference over a father. In my opinion that makes sense. Why should this not apply to adopted children?

Also I realise that a lesbian couple would provide the child with a mother (or two) and my opinion is that this is significantly better than letting a gay (male) couple adopt.
You imply that there are differences between a mother and father, indeed that these terms have any place in modern society. You are, therefore, a bigoted moron and everything you say is invalid.

    Good evening.

No, because there is no "right to a mother" recognised as a basic human right.

That is a relic of the heavily patriarchal society of past decades and is not a desirable state of affairs. Feminists have made great efforts in recent years to get this court bias overturned so that custody is judged based on their parental ability, not by their gender.
