we need to lock up old folks for good

    before they take over...

    youve been warned
Well they are seriously rising in numbers aren't they and the current trend only seems to increasing.

The potential cure of bird flu failed this winter, so we need to do something until next year when it or something similar can try to save us all again....

Haha - God bless our grannies!

They may appear to be innocuous little old ladies, but have nerves of steel, strength of will and the capacity for tenaciousness in the face of adversity.

Well they must be bored out of their wits in the old people's home - perhaps we should lengthen the retirement age?

Well, call me stupid but why didn't the military base stop them entering? If it's such a serious matter, one would expect them to have "gates", as they're known, to stop people getting in, and "fences" around the base. Just a thought.
I know about security on Army bases, doesn't always exist, many times I have entered a base without my ID on me. Through the main gate may I add.

However sometimes you get the overzealous MGS who ask for 6 forms of ID.

Well why the bloody hell doesn't somebody do something about the security? We are at war (apparently), and yet people can walk unopposed into the bases of our armed forces.

Who are we at war with? Must have been asleep, didn't realise. Which country is it this time?

Actually it's an American army base and there's big guys with big guns standing by the entrance. But they're probably told not to shoot Nobel-nominated grannies.

We are supposedly at war with a concept. Just like we were from 1946 until 1989, only more actively. I'm sure I don't need to tell you the name of that concept. I personally would say we're still at war with Iraq and Afghanistan too, but GWB said about three years ago that hostilities were ended, so they must be.

What business did the grannies have in the base?

Americans? Keeping their fingers off the trigger because they were TOLD TO? There must be something in the air in Britain, then. :p:

In my experience of US bases they are quite stringent on people having the correct passes and the correct escorts in order to be allowed on.

Personally, I think we should be more worried about the presence of the base and the american Intelligence services than we should about peace protesers protesting.

Actually it is a British base used by Americans. The correct name is RAF Menwith Hill ergo it is a Royal Airforce Base.

But in truth it's run by the US National Security Agency - I believe it's their European listening post. They got it for helping us out in WWII. It might be called RAF whatever but the British have no authority over it.

Actually, they do. They don't have any authority over the listening that goes on inside the bunkers, but the British are responsible for base security etc etc
