I have used hotmail since I was eleven It's gonna hurt me using a different one Do you still use 'hotmail/outlook' or have you made a new account with someone else?
Yes, I still use it, but I just hate it. Maybe I let out an exasperated sigh every time I log in now, which didn't happen before. I cba to change.

Its so ugly, if I didn't actually use my hotmail email for literally everything I would stop using it:mad:
Download Windows Live Mail and never see Outlook again.

You can just get your emails downloaded automatically and you can use that as the client instead. I use it for my university email too, and it can handle many other accounts.

I hate Outlook too. I don't care about the name change, it's just that they completely changed the style and it's slower as well.
Yeah. I hate the big blue bar across the top and just everything. I really miss the old layout, it's what I grew up using

I'm sure you can keep your hotmail address, just to look at it you log into outlook with it, and I presume all new addresses will be outlook.

Outlook is a vast improvement on the previous visual design of Hotmail and is dragging Microsoft's email service (kicking and screaming apparently) into the modern future.

Hotmail has long been stuck in 2006 and with the proliferation of touch devices, Microsoft is finally starting to think about how to unify its design language into one cohesive unit. With the new brand comes a host of features not present in Hotmail and as far as I'm concerned, it works brilliantly.

I know it sounds like I'm some sort of Microsoft brand ambassador, but I'm not. I use Gmail permanently but I can recognise improvement when I can see it.

I love Outlook. The new interface is why I switched to the client in the first place. It's so simple and clean in comparison to the cluttered UIs of the other main email clients.

Having said that, I have noticed that there's been some network lag in the Outlook servers over the past few days. I assume this is to do with the server migration.

What. Am I the only one who loves Outlook more than Hotmail. There's a futuristic-simplicity edge to it. I switched early, and it's great ^.^ OP, I'm sure you'll get used to it soon.

Edit: After reading the above posts, I realised I'm not the only one. Outlook FTW!

I've always used hotmail for my emails, but my inbox has completely changed and now it's called Outlook? I hate the new layout, it's so bland and I'm seriously thinking of getting an new email account with yahoo instead.

Is there any way of getting the old hotmail back? Surely it can't just be me who hates the new one?

On the top right buttons, I think if you click settings, it should say switch back to Hotmail.

I love it, brought itself into the 21st Century - away from the dark ages of AOL (shudders)

Does anyone know how to rearrange the folders ?

I like the new UI but I recently tried to 'clean up' and things started to look weird ...
I tried to rearrange the order of my folders on the left panel, but all I achieved was
dragging the folder above into the folder below and creating a new sub folder :s and now I can't get it out

any ideas on how to sort this mess ? :/

Just a note for anyone else in my position you must:
    1. Create a 'new' folder
    2. select all of the messages in the annoying sub-folder
    3. Then move the selected messages into the 'new' folder
    4. Now delete the annoying empty sub-folder

All that just to rearrange a sub-folder
and yes this is the official method!!! :hmpf:

    EDIT:
    Now my filters are missing
    Thank you 'outlook' ...
