    Why do they need to add the term to the sentence? It has no use or meaning there...
    It's primarily used as a connective.

    i have to admit to over using "like" myself it's a good way to fill the silence when you're trying to remember the story you're telling. I am gulity of going "then she was like" "and he was like" "and i was like" :lol:

    Just a filler. It can get annoying, but I like it when my Geordie friends at uni say something along the lines of 'It was a good night like' :')

    I'd rather hear that than the accent and slang around here, where we all say 'rate' or 'be ret' and drop our h's :P

    'How ya doing youth. You're rate?'

    'Yeah, I'm orate. Ow about ysen?.
