    Car phones - they've died a death haven't they?
You had to get out, open the boot, plug the handset into the box of tricks that connected with BT and then you could call someone for like a tenner a minute!

I can also remember when super unleaded cost 76p a litre.
Even I remember petrol being less than £1 a litre !!!

The phrases "roll the window down", "pull the chain" and "get off the internet, I wanna use the phone."

With the way it's going at the moment we'll be explaining what a 'pub' was.

Dial-up was hilarious, was all the noise really necessary? Plus when it first came about it didn't even work half the time. Surprisingly my Gran was the first person that I knew that had it, and when I used to sleep at her house and the dial-up wouldn't connect she used to say that it was because "there was to many people online"

Not that there was even anything on the internet back then. No youtube, or videos of any kind, no games, no social networking sites, no music. Just text and pictures, and it all took so bloody long to load!

Honey those pictures on the viewscreen are what we used to call "animals". When i was young there were all sorts of these "animals" in forests and woods. That was our name for large groups of "trees" in a place called the "countryside". I will tell you about those another day. Anyway these "animals" did not help the economy and stopped people building houses, so they had to go. I am not sure where Honey... they probably moved to a different place. No we can't go and see them Sweetpea... now go and play with your robot friend and later i will plug you in to the fun-generator.

Have you also tried explaining that when you wanted to change the chanel on the TV you had to get off your arse, walk over to the TV and press a button unless you had one of those fancy TV's with a remote controll tethered to the TV by a wire! Also that for years there was only 4 channels until channel 5 was launched and even then, after 9 oclock all they put on was porn!
Yes if you see my other post you'll see I have been trying to explain only having 3 channels (before Channel 4) and the test card, shut down for the night, only a short sections of children's programmes through the day ie lunch and tea time.
