Has it's pros and cons, cons are it replacing conventional socialising, people glued to their phones instead of talking to other people, pros are easier to keep in contact with people and organise events/gatherings.

It's not weird after all communicating with people via a screen isn't normal! And Its a good thing that you've deleted them as every time I revise I always end up on fb which I know is really bad but its just too addictive !:/

There's people that don't have it of course, but, I kinda feel different, because I didn't get Facebook until 2009, when everyone else got in 2008, just makes me feel unique and different because of that.

I don't have any social networking accounts (except Whatsapp and TSR >_>). I'm socially fine without them too. I don't think it's a big deal tbh.

I have facebook but I very rarely go on it, only if I have a message or something.
Half the time it makes me feel depressed when I see all the photos of my friends partying and enjoying themselves at university and here I am all lonely and bored on a gap year... :erm:

People had social lifes before facebook and twitter. Therefore facebook and twitter is not necessary to have a social life.

Facebook is not a social necessity. I still get invited to the biggest parties and events and what is even best is, I get direct invites not one on a mass event page. I get as many birthday wishes through calls and messages which means, people do not need facebook to remember my birthday. What were you saying about social importance?
Ok so its imporant for people like me who have hoes in different area codes

I'm not a very social person. I believe even if I did have Facebook I would never use it and it would be neglected. I had to once get Google+ due to doing a group project and the group member having a ChromeBook and therefore no Skype. I know Google+ doesn't count as a social networking site but I used it once for that reason and never again.

So you're not the only teenager without a social networking site account. However, and pardon me if I am wrong, most of us are social recluses! We are Hermits!

At my school and at the clubs I go to it is pretty unusual for people not to use social networks (especially facebook). I know a few people who don't for various reasons but they are the exception. I use them predominately as a way to communicate with people - nothing quite beats a site like facebook for multi-person conversations, calling out to all your friends or sharing what you're up to. I contact people on facebook far more than I text for call them and it's used to organise pretty much every social event I go to.

In an environment like this in which the majority use a particular social network it really does help to be part of it. I only joined facebook when I moved school and found that most of my friends were active users.

I can't keep it up long enough for it to be social.
    I beg your pardon.

Never heard a girl say that, tbh.
