I think the AS English Lit marks this year have been lower than expected - I was predicted an A overall, got an A in my coursework but got a D in my exam. I haven't heard from anyone else though
I have the same results. Overall, I am so puzzled. AQA exam board is horrid for English Literature

Although I did AQA Literature and Language, I too got a shock result today - a D in my June exam even though I'm predicted an A and got a high B in the January exam. Now I'm a C overall and I'm stressing so much as I wanted to do English at uni, have no clue what I did wrong

Might just be the fault of the AS paper/ more ums marks needed?
The A2 paper was fine- didn't finish the second essay and still got an A*.

Look into getting a remark. If everyone did terribly, they'll have to change something.

AQA do this every single year with Lit exams, so annoying
I know even my history teacher was telling me it's always English?? how long do remarks take to get back?

Which exam board are you under? I'm with OCR and I got a C. I'm really annoyed about my coursework grade (D) as my teacher marked it as an A, and while my exam mock was an E, I got a B in the exam :s

Looks like I'm an exception here. 194/200 UMS.

How did you do in GCSEs, what were you predicted, is it relevant to your university course, do you think you could improve?

I got full marks in the coursework, an A in the exam, so an A overall. but yeah there seems to be serious problems with the marking, in my school too. constant problem with marking something as subjective as english, i suppose.

I was a little downhearted with my Lit results today too- I got an A in the coursework but a C in the exam (LTA1B) so it leveled out to an overall B. I'm kind of gutted because I felt the exam went really well! I'm considering a remark as are some other people in the year, looks as though it's a bit of a national thing

If it's any consolation, it happened at A2 too. I got an A* in my coursework after moderation, and was predicted an A* or A in the exam. My coursework was downgraded to an A and I got a C in the exam. Doesn't make any sense to me, as I've been consistently getting A* in my mock tests.

I got the shock of getting an A after totally messing the exam up! Just goes to show how wrongly they mark sometimes.

I'm not sure, I think theres a priority remark or something for A2 students but for AS I think it would take around 2 weeks. Maybe less
ah not too bad, I expected longer

My teacher marked my coursework as an "A", and when I got my results, it went down to a "B" (I'm quite relieved about that, because my other teacher wasn't clear on the word count, which meant that I had to type up a 1000 words for the transformational writing at last minute.) and I got a "D" in the exam. So overall, I got a "C" in the AQA English lit for AS. I really want to do English literature in Uni as well. I don't know of anyone else in my class who got the same grade as me or higher, the people I have spoken to told me that they got a "D" overall, and one person got a "U".

I got an A in the coursework and an A in the exam and I talked about a lot of context in Section B which apparently your not meant to do. Soo, I don't know what I did but it must have been right, lol. :P

Not that it's that much help to you guys.

I did AS lit&lang and got a C in my exam after getting Bs and As in all of my mocks. A bit disappointing but I got an A on the coursework. Averaged out as C overall :/

At my school nearly everyone who did aqa English lit1ac did terribly, many expected a's and most of us have been left with a d grade. I got 73/80 in my coursework so a strong a and then a u on the exam so it came to a d overall. I don't know what to do, I expected to get an a or at worst a b and now it seems my whole university future is unclear.

The school is sending them all to be remarked but will they go up considerably?

Hey everyone, slightly off topic but I am 6ums off a B (I didn't revise thinking I would drop it). Do you think it's worth getting a remark? One paper is 1 raw mark off an A and one is 2 raw marks off a C?

This happened to me and a lot of people I know at my college. My teacher marked my 2 coursework pieces as a high A grade and an A* grade, so an A* overall but when I got my results back AQA had reduced it to a B grade. I got a B in my mock exam but the real summer exam I didn't think went that well, but I thought that my high coursework grade would hold up a lower grade in the exam. I got an E in the exam and this combined with the lowering of my coursework grade meant that I got a D overall, which I am not happy with as I hope to do English Literature at University. This happened to the few people I've spoken to from my college, I don't know anyone who got higher than a D, although I haven't yet found out if anyone else's coursework grade was lowered. It is likely that I will have to resit the exam next year, which I am ok with, but as my coursework I don't know. I worked extremely hard to get that A* and to have it taken away from me makes me feel very angry and frankly rather useless. Glad to see that I am not alone and hopefully if enough is said to AQA then they will be forced to take action and re-asses everyone's grades.
