Do you know what, forget it.

I think I have to send my work to the Faculty of Music
    --------------
Is this correct? Sorry for the commotion
No, this is incorrect - the faculty website says to send it to your college.

I'm sorry we aren't seeming to help you, but there is something seriously wrong here. The application to Oxford is not like the application to non-collegiate universities (as per my message above). You need to find out about the college system, and what point in your application you state the college.

I really don't want to put you off - without meaning to sound rude, it sounds like your school haven't supported you very well. They should have helped you with this.

The details on the music dept website are for 2012 so might have changed for this year. But (if they do require written work,) if you have named a particular college on your UCAS, you'll need to send your written work to them. If you made an 'open' application, you will be allocated to a named college to which you will then need to send your written work. (It is colleges that decide on admissions, not the university as a whole.) If you contact the Oxford admissions team: on 01865 288000 or online, they may be able to help further.

Ah, you have applied to University College, Oxford - their code is X.

    http://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/under...pus_codes.html

University is a good college, and if that's where you want to go you need to send it to them (their admissions tutor's address will be on their website). It must have been a mistake that it's the only one that came up - you should have been able to apply to any. If you haven't already then before the deadline I would research all the colleges, then contact UCAS if you want to change.

Regarding whether it was the only one that came up, it really, genuinely was the only option available.

Anyway, this is the address to submit my work I presume, seeing that it came from the website (my paranoia is increasing)

So, you must send it to the admissions tutor for music at the address given here:

Yep, but with the admissions tutor's name too (I think it's Dr Daniel Grimley http://www.univ.ox.ac.uk/content/music), and it wouldn't hurt to state what it is on the outside, for sorting purposes ("Undergraduate music applicant: submission of written work" or something).

Have they actually requested the work yet? It's very early. I'd expect them to contact you and give you details of where to send it in the letter/email.

The specification is on the website, with a deadline date of 11 November, so they may not do that.

Ok, didn't check. Haven't had a music applicant in a while and none of my Oxbridge tutees have been contacted yet.
