Nope - state school and came out with AAA although I pretty much taught myself A-levels. I think private school would have made the whole thing less stressful but I don't think that private schools offer good value nowadays.

I went to a state primary school then a grammar secondary. My brother went to a private primary school then a grammar secondary. He got a 3rd in his degree and I got a 2.1. I think it's the private work you put in at home makes the difference, although a good school environment certainly helps.

It's surprising that you think we're taught anything.
Eh, state school teachers were perfectly competent, if my memory of years 7+8 serve me correctly.

I went to private primary and secondary schools.

My secondary school was a "public school", which is a type of private school, oddly enough. My primary school was apparently a "prep school", but I'm still not too sure what that actually is.

I did really enjoy them both and I'm glad I went. Though it would have been interesting to perhaps spend a term at a state comprehensive, just to see what it's like and compare the environments. My school had "links" with a state school nearby, though it never seemed to amount to anything.
