I once went to an extra curricular talk and as it turned out only three students turned up - myself and my two best friends. The rest were staff from the department and some other department staff. At the end they said "and everyone is welcome to join us for a meal at *insert local place here*" so we just sort of starting to walk out - then the head lecturer came to us and said we had just as much right, as would anyone who had attended the talk. But I felt really, really weird about it so didn't go. For me it would feel weird, but I guess we're all adults.

    That's fine.

I seriously thinking one of my lecturers is banging one of the students. It's a lecture of about 9 people, and the sexual chemistry between him and her is just so obvious!
    Wait what!?!?!?

do you do animal science or something???

how can a lecture have 9 people?

With respect, my statement was an accurate summary of what constitutes mere puff. I don't mean to be provocative, but it seems clear that you are indeed rusty.
I believe there was a typo in your previous post:

Mere puff is in respect of particular and obviously exaggerated representations made to induce a party to contract, not lawfully contracted by subsequently disadvantageous bargains.
Presumably the "by" was supposed to be "but" - it was this that made your point difficult to follow.

In any event, that's me told...

LOL law. it's a very specialist legal module, that has no authority or relevance in this country, but can be pursued out of academic interest. But 0% relevance whatsoever to the law of this country.
There was actually 10 people, but 1 person dropped out, reducing the class size by a whole 10%

    What was the bet?

I'd argue "mere puff" - he didn't mean it seriously (and I think you knew that ). Contract Law 101. :p:
Well there were two bets. The first one was just 100 quid, in that a certain piece of equipment in our field was a certain size. He said it was very small, I knew for sure it was much, much larger. No innuendo! (It's made of polymer and metal :P) So I bet him 100 quid on it.

But the second bet was on something that he evidently didn't know anything about and was betting on it purely because he didn't believe it, whereas I've had actual training on the matter. That was why I went high and put in for 400 pounds, on the basis he gave me 800 back if I won.

But it doesn't matter anyway - he was intoxicated and I wouldn't follow anything up on it, even if I do only have x.xx in my account to try and scrounge the train fare into Uni for my next lecture.

Although I might ask for my 400 back.

I've had a few drinks with lecturers. At inter and outer departmental bbqs and host nights. Effectively a mash up in the lecturers house
