Lack of confidence, want to do a language at A-Level... Watch

I do AS French and I'm probably one of the most unconfident and quiet people you could find, and my accent was absolutely awful this time last year, but what you have to remember is (hopefully if you have a nice class) the people in your class aren't there to laugh at you when you get something wrong, you won't be the only one nervous about speaking in front of other people and in my experience I've found that the other people in my class want to help you improve. Don't be nervous of making an idiot of yourself, because it holds you back and making an idiot of yourself by pronouncing something completely wrong or using incorrect grammar is sometimes one of the best ways to learn. If you want to do it, you can.
