What was the most hardest question? Probably the question where they asked you to explain a word It was the question about the carbon cycle. Did anybody get that?

Detrivore? They feed on dead matter like eartworms do

The six maker on antibiotic resistance was hard!

I made something up for that question, but I found the hardest the six marker on antibiotics :/ Wrote two points that I don't think were relevant

Firstly, bacteria in section A and B were in their favored conditions, due to growth on the paper. This could show they became resistant and reproduced rapidly.
Bacteria in section C, and in the water, did not have much growth, which must have shown that the antibiotic was effective.

Surely that is the wrong way round because there would be no effect by the water?

Male sex cells are xy and femal sex cells are xx the lack of y causes female because y has a specific protein that cause male. I think that's the question your talking about Also the 23rd pair is labeled xx or xy depending on if your male or female.

Are the grade boundaries gonna be higher this year? Last [email protected] mark for an A* was 43.

i think so because most grade boundaries are going up (i think) but no unless lots of people did badly but i cant see that happening unfortunately as it was a reasonable test

We did it as a mock. There was a 6 marker on clones, blood pressure and how evolution brings about a new species.

I'm expecting this paper to be difficult tomorrow, since the June one was quite nice. I'm predicting a 6 marker on the nitrogen cycle.
    Thanks for the info!

I just got back from school, how did you find the exam? Some questions I felt I knew, but others I'm not so sure about. I also thought there would be one (continued under spoiler, as I'm not sure if we're meant to talk about exams incase others haven't taken them yet)

Carbon cycle question...wasn't too bad until it got to the bit about the detrivores

I found it alright. There were some odd questions though. I'm pretty sure it's fine to speak about now but...

Yea I agree about that one, I said that they were decomposers that fed on decay and dead organisms to release CO2 - don't know if it's right though.
