merit in english and geography. feel qutie dissapointed

What %'s of people get these distinctions and merits and unmarked?

I may decline and retake on my gap year as it might hold me back applying for geography.
I'd say you were being a little bit ridiculous, but do what you want of course.

I heard it was a 50% fail rate, but that could be utter nonsense.

I got a Merit in AEA German.

I was thinking about taking AEA History next year. Just wondering, do you think it's worth it? What were your experiences with it like? blah blah blah, that kinda thing. I'm afraid I don't know much about it apart from what I can get off the web. As far as I know my school don't offer it at the moment but maybe I'll just have to convince them that it's worthwhile.
    thanks

Massively happy, as I blundered my way through that exam not really knowing what I was doing.

    Distinctions in French and Spanish.

At the time, I wasn't too fussed about them - they added time to exam season but they were fairly fun to sit - but now I'm glad I did them because, although I got three As, my offer specified an A in history, which I got a B in (by 1%. Grrr...). I reckon the distinctions in the AEAs might have helped to persuade my uni to let me in. Not bad considering for Spanish I was half an hour late for no good reason and got 10 minutes less than thealotted time as a result. (Technically, should I have been allowed to sit that paper?).

Anyway, I'd definitely recommend them to anyone. You have nothing to lose, and they might end up really important!

I think for most subjects it is 50-60%

I got Distinction in History and Merit in English - Does anyone know how well universities regard them? I'm thinking of reapplying and wondering how useful they'd be.

Distinctions in French & Spanish. Wasn't expecting a distinction in French initially...but this year's exam was quite easy in comparison with previous years...

    French is split D: 30%, M: 36%, U: 34% - so quite a bit more lenient than before..
