A Bond theme? That's so awesome! I'd love to be the evil mastermind, muahaha!

By the way, the link seems to be broken
I think sheffield may be having some problems with some parts of their website, i mean you can get on to the homepage but the link you mentioned obviously has gone dodgy and the link to the page to login for contracts isn't working either  how annoying

    hopefully will be sorted soon!

Beware of chocolate fountains! At the law ball they had one and it fell over ruining a poor girls ball dress. Should be a good night though by the sounds of it!
Oh if only a wave of chocolate would hit me...

Hey chris, long time no see

    just read this:

"complimentary champagne, hot & cold buffet, casino and an amazing Belgian chocolate fountain!"

now i'm sold!! chocolate fountain!!!! may have to do a dawn french in vicar of dibley and stick my head under it lol.
the freshers' ball is seriously underrated. sorry to steal your thunder like. it was nowhere near worth the amount it cost, and the chocolate fountain was quite dangerous (nails being dug in, hair being tugged, biting and violence in general (teehee))
i think it's better just to go out on as many other union nights in the week as you can, spend time in bar|one/interval, and get chatting that way.
not trying to be too negative however... lol

its worth going to if youve made friends who are going also - its a complete laugh if you know people ... however if you havnt made many mates yet, probably better hanging/chatting to randoms!

Yeah the chocolate fountain was v disappointing.
PACKED OUT! I didn't even see the fountain. Freshers Ball was the most disappointing Freshers night ever...and the most expensive...

Go to the other events that are cheaper...the ball worked out way expensive cos of buying outfits and stuff as well... some people had them already but alot of people bought/hired outfits. and when tickets are nearly £30...expensive!

lol, I think it should be fun if the non-freshers come and join in too more people to meet and have fun with! Although I do have one question ... are there any amazing treats for those of us who can't enjoy the chocolate fountain? (I'm allergic to cocoa products ... lol, just my luck).

I'm not sure I'll go to the fresher's ball whether I want to or not ... I don't have a suit, and the cost of hiring one plus the cost of the ticket will rob me of a large quantity of cash I could spend elsewhere (I like it when my wallet isn't empty >.>)

I wore a ball gown and ours was...ermmm...can't remember.... Vegas themed. No1 sticks to themes to be honest, ball gowns and tuxes are the way to go...if you go at all, which I wouldn't exactly highly recommend lol
