If she's the hottest girl in the crowd I'm staying straight.

I don't doubt the fact that they are passionate but US fan culture is the most cringe worthy in the world. It makes Fulham look like Galatasaray.

Just look at a WWE event and scan the crowd.

Tbh, the average WWE fan is probably 14 and the level of sophistication of the fans is mirrored by the level in the sport.

More people watched the USA V Portugal game than the NBA Finals.

It is reported that the main obstacle to the growth of soccer in America is the big money that the other sports use to get prime-time slots in major networks.

Not sure quite how this works since the networks are paying, guess it's back-handers to certain decision makers?

Because Americans love to shout USA USA USA and be patriotic. I severely doubt half the people watching it care about "soccer".

NBA is just one of the 4 big sports leagues (not to mention stuff like racing, wrestling that also has a big following) cannot be compared with their national team. They are beyond ridiculously patriotic.

The exact same thing happens in England

No thanks to "Fat Les", "Ingerland" culture is rife here too when the World Cup's on.

Maybe, just maybe football's never been big in the states because the networks don't like pumping money into it because there isn't the opportunity to put adverts on every five seconds. *cough* superbowl *cough*

It was never even a group of death.

2 teams go through, so Germany being a great team is irrelevant as they're only 1 team. Ghana are nothing special, and Portugal's only chance of doing anything in this WC was if Ronaldo was on top form but he was playing with an injury.

Lmao at "group of death" and lmao at americans who now think they're good at football for getting through an average group on goal difference.

Wouldnt go that far, it was still the hardest group and the USA came through it impressively.

Portugal are heavily over-reliant on Ronaldo of course but they've still got many other top players and with a better coach could surely have pushed for the QFs at least.

Ghana are also dangerous side, as Germany found out.

And Germany themselves nearly drew the game vs USA but for a Lahm block at the death.

England's and Holland's were harder imo.

Ghana are between Egypt and Armenia in the rankings, while Ronaldo scored all 4 of Portugal's goals in the play off vs Sweden so if he was in the condition then that he is now, they wouldn't even be here.

    Belgium will knock them out.
