    I know very little about Newcastle university. Doing a year in industry is very worthwhile, all the universities I was looking at (for chemistry) recommended it. Employment rates are important to consider when choosing a university, but I would say factors like student satisfaction are just as important. Definitely Visit a couple of uni open days before you make your final university decision. But I'm assuming you've got a while before you get to that stage?
