Currently there's a comfortable warmth of the evening sun on my left as I'm on the computer, the sweet taste of the recently-consumed Eccles cake still between my teeth, with a taste of orange flavoured Tango on my tongue, having failed to wash away the remaining pastry.

The warmth of the sun matches the warmth of my spirit as I have recently finished my first voluntary shift at the British Heart Foundation. I've made new friends there plus I have something to put onto my CV to show I'm a competent human being.

As a cloud passes between the sun and me, the cool breeze comping through the window becomes more pronounced. I wonder, "Is the voice in my head, that I read this to myself, the same voice as mine? If not, whose is it?", the lack of warm sunlight on my face is beginning to affect me already. I look outside through my open window and see a pair of open doors leading into the building opposite, well dressed people occasionally walk in. It is most likely a wedding, I think to myself. I look out again and I am blinded by the sun, unobscured by the clouds once more. I smile, a reaction quite peculiar when it is realised that I am literally facing a source of light that burns my skin and sockets. My eyebrows furrow and I bare my teeth, the public outside do not see my grinning face, which is most likely for the best. A manic face peering out of a window in your general direction would be enough to cause a disturbance to anybody's evening.

Still, I relish the last few minutes of light, before the sun prematurely sets behind a building. The nights have always been shorter in the summer.

My stomach calls to me, I have neglected it from nutrition throughout the day, its growl and my drowsiness being my body's methods to remind me to keep myself functioning. Pasta with cheese again, or perhaps rice, for the pasta was finished the night prior.

I close my window to stop the wind cooling my room and let the sun's final moments warm what it can through the glass, rice it shall be.

A bit cold, and now unnecessarily nervous because I'm spending too much time on the results day forum.
