Got my course books today! Very exciting, but a bit daunting writing all the deadlines in my diary. I'm in North Wales.

    Heyy,

    I'm 17, you?

I'm worried about tutorials, I don't think I'll attend them so soon.

    Hey there

Don't worry about tutorials! They're the *best* bit I've just finished AA100 & I'm waiting for my EMA results, but I honestly don't think I'd have completed the course if I'd not gone along to tutorials. You get to meet some really nice people, make new friends & hear other people's thoughts & ideas. I can't begin to stress just HOW valuable it will be for you to attend.

Plus, it totally helps you gather your thoughts for the TMAs. OU is such an isolating & lonely experience - it really helps spending a couple of hours a month with other students in the same boat

Wishing all the new starters the very best of luck - it's a varied & interesting course and yes, you will find bits difficult & challenging - but just remember, it's all about getting you prepared for the rest of your degree...
You might even decide to change pathways part way through, but that's good! Cos you're finding where your interests really lie.

Enjoy it - it's over far too quickly
