In that case, no I don't have any relatives my age that I can talk to. And even if I did, it would be different. And it's not that I can't talk to people, I'm just not at all comfortable in doing so.

That's what I'm hoping university will do for me. I have told myself that none of the people there will know anything about me, so I can reinvent myself on a social level. When I was 15 I got diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder, so I've had CBT before and therefore I know that I'm being completely irrational here, which makes it all the more frustrating.

Thank you for your replies, I'll have a look at that forum when I get the chance
You could just really embarrass yourself so much that nothing will ever seem embarrassing again?

Seems like you are the female version of Raj from the big bang theory. Try making friends with some guys who you aren't attracted to and you will get more confidence
    Lol!

I've recently realised that I cannot speak to males of my own age unless I am at least a little bit tipsy. How can I get over this? It's awful. When I'm sober I always mix up my words and don't look them in the eyes and generally just look like an anxious mess, but when I'm tipsy I feel a lot more confident.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Ahh thats cute do their penises intimidate you?
