See Jarred's post in the First reading.
This is regarding the degrees/radians question? As degrees are an approved unit for use with SI (in the same category as all units of time (bar the second), the litre and the tonne) then they are acceptable and that point is moot.

Yeah the degrees point I made in the first reading was thankfully not an issue, since degrees (along with some other non-SI units like litres and hectares) are approved to be used alongside SI which I didn't realise until I came to write this.

Bit of a shame that not a single person out of 26 members of the Government even bothered to try and counter that point when it was made though.

Maybe we all knew but decided not to bring it up since we didn't want to undermine you?

Completely unlike the Government bill which forced all pubs to buy new glasses, made no provision for school and also meant that all signs had to be replaced then?
I've voted against every single metrication bill to my knowledge, for the same reasons...

      That's ridiculous reasoning.

      I wish :daydreaming:

I suppose the real reason is fair enough to be honest: people see a criticism and don't know much about it or care much about it as it's a fairly niche topic, so they assume the author will turn out instead.

      Nooooooooo

The last thing we need to both metric and imperial. We just need one or the other; and metric is clearly the preferred option. There is literally only one place where the current units are better, and that is in alcohol sale; hence the "metric pint" defined to be precisely 568ml (rather than kinda sorta 568ml).

The metric pint has been defined as 600ml on here, which makes no sense and is definitely at the top of my list of things that need to be fixed.

The current system isn't broken, and doesn't need replacing. No from me.
