    Deadlift creates growth hormone.
All lifting stimulates GH, deadlifts is a massive compound exercise so it does in a sense create growth hormone.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15507691 (technically looks at squats but you get the idea)

It's still contested as to how long the hormone spikes last, so they might not have a massive effect on building actual muscle (there's reports supporting either side) but pretty much unanimous about the spike itself.

GH is a piss weak hormone as far as muscle anabolism goes, IGF1 is what stimulates hypertrophy primarily. So any fluctuations in GH (or pretty much any hormone tbh) might aswell be completely ignored

GH is made in the pituitary gland. When it hits the liver is triggers the release of IGF-1 which is what is primarily responsible for the protein synthesis and muscle hypertrophy that we see (and so desperately want ).

There is evidence that GH and IGF-1 work independently in the growth process:

The anabolic window - you should eat x within an hour ish of a workout

It was a hypothesis that was never proven. It takes time for this stuff to be digested and to get you into your bloodstream, if it were true you should be consuming all your stuff during your workout.
It's something more akin to 12 hours long.

    the 3x10 for gainzzzz programmes

That you need to get fat as hell on a bulk to make gains

You must have a dedicated day to legs

That everyone is a "natural" bodybuilder

    That everyone is on drugs

    All kindzzzzz of myths

I heard 'Squats are the best exercise for your bis mate' in the gym the other day.

    Outstanding.
Someone's clearly a big Rippletoad fan.

I was actually going to post this myself.

Drinking protein shakes between sets is the best thing I've seen

Wee scrawny boy was slurping back some chocolate protein shake between his 7.5kg bicep curls hahaha

"3x10 is the best for gains"

"5 reps? Are you training for strength then?"

If you constantly work out your biceps, you'll end up with big arms.

You must all work out at chain gyms or some **** because some of the stuff in here is straight up stupid. You'd get kicked out of the gym I lift at for coming out with some of this crap. Best thing I ever did was leave a chain gym full of cardio Christmas carb cutters who last about 3 days before packing it in to start crying.

Much better going to an old fashioned gym where the converse wearing let's bang out 10 reps in 25 seconds brah then go chill by the receptionist with a nice rack brigade aren't around.
