    Don't know if serious but...
"A lad is a male who specialises in creating and distributing exquisite banter. Though most lads are youngish (late teens and early twenties) age is not a defining characteristic and you will find both young lads and old lads. Some special skills of lads include, but are not limited to the following:

    - Binning Pints
    - Exposing genitalia and getting naked in public places
    - Throwing up after copious alcohol consumption
    - Spousal Abuse
    - Getting kicked out of pubs/nightclubs for being overly offensive

Excelling in all areas will earn a lad the title of "top lad". There is no higher praise that can be bequeathed upon an individual." -urban dictionary

    Is this a genuine question?

Best definition is a beer monster!!11!1 who likes a bit of bantz, pretends to be gay after drinking and does other wacky stuff like drinking piss, spanking the other lads with pool cues, stealing traffic cones and taking them home, setting their profile pictures to a pic of them wearing a Borat mankini. ****ing mental this lot.
    gotcha

Personally, I think guys act like lads as women are more likely to have a ONS with a lad, they might not be relationship material (that goes for the 'lads' and the girls that sleep with them) but doesn't matter had sex.
maybe they are attracted to it because girls don't usually behave like that. same situation w/ beards: girls are attracted to them because they can't grow them themselves..?

I'm so unaware of the stereotype "lad"... Just because someone is promiscuous and willing to be centre of attention at any cost doesn't necessarily mean that they're a lad. It's called not giving a **** what other people think.
      A lad right here.

Wouldn't have sex with a "lad" anyway, so it's pretty pointless as most girls will think "what an idiot"
To be fair in my experience the lads at uni were getting OP's username, usually with reasonably fit girls.

Later on they tend to settle down with a girl called Pippa or something similar, have a stag do involving a lot of dressing/suiting/chinoing up and then get married in the grounds of the aforementioned girl's weekend home. Workwise they'll be a mid level stockbroker/lawyer/consultant with a secretary who adores the very ground they walk on.

To be fair, they tend to throw by far the best stags.

If they're dying to be ye centre of attention then clearly they do give a **** about what people think

Lad culture isn't bad, some people just try too hard and take it too far. Like the neknomination

From the descriptions I've read, they just want to have fun and a tiny thread on TSR isnt exactly going to make them quiver in shame.
Why are we here discussing this? Just leave them be and let natural selection kill off all the stupid ones.

Some of it was downright dangerous, but I don't think anyone has an issue with the original down a pint and pass it on.

I don't know, but LADS make me cringe on the spot. I find their presence alone extremely annoying. It's not cute.

To 'act' implies learned behaviour. If this is the case then it may be attributed to insecurity - feelings of disworth which manifests into erratic behaviour in the attempt to gain attention or social ranking.

Most 'lads' in my opinion are just learn-ed douchebags.

No I'm just dealing you a dose of reality, you're not statistically relevant as there are 3.5billion woman and you're cute at best anyways
I'm guessing there will be around 20, or 50 girls at most who replied to this thread. In relation to the 3.5 billion girls this thread is therefore this the information from this thread is not statically relevant.

You were only the 40th reply :P
And I'm a guy so im not sure how many of the previous posters are actually from girls. Makes the thread even less statistically relevant.

Even at that, pretty cringeworthy. I'm not saying that drinking is cringeworthy because I drink, but recording yourself drinking is what I consider to be cringeworthy. Also, I had no sympathy for those who died in the process, purely their own fault.
