Hi

I would ask about MSc Finance (Pathway CFA) and MSc Finance, do you know what is the deffrent between them?

Other question: Do exams taken after the course is finished or all modules should be done after the second semester ?

Thank you..

I think one is a general masters in Finance and the other one is a masters in Finance specialised for the CFA (Chartered Finanical Analyst). I think you might get CFA exam exemptions but don't hold me to it. I had a friend doing the Msc Finance at QMUL, but I don't know anyone who did the Msc Finance (Pathway CFA).

Exams are in May, after you have finished all 8 of your modules. Then you write a dissertation over the summer (which im currently finishing off right now). Dissertation is handed in September.

Though my first exam was like 29th April, so its late April/ the whole of May/first week of June to be more precise. All Exams will be done by the first week of June.

Thank you for your reply..

Is the attendance to lectures and seminars necessary or optional?

How many hours of studying each week?

Attendance is necessary. If attendance drops too low, you may get a warning and/or meeting with your tutor.

You will be given a clicker which you click on each lecture for attendance. This is especially important for international students to have their attendance good or they may get their visa revoked.

You study as much as you want. You will have 12 hours of lectures in a week in the School of Economics and Finance. 4 X 2 hour lectures, 4 X 1 hour tutorials.

This thread for any new undergrad or postgrad students who are joining QMUL. I did Msc Finance and Econometrics at QMUL this year, and am just finishing writing my dissertation.

Ask me anything!! Food related, area related, hidden lifts, lecture notes related....etc etc

I will be of most help obviously to people joining the Economics and Finance School at QMUL, but I'll try my best!!

if i get predicted A*bbb, do you think ill have a chance of getting an offer? or if i do get rejected can i call them up in clearing.

thanks
How good is the history department in QMUL? I had to withdraw the application for this year (MA) but might apply again for next year.

Hi, thanks for helping other people out. I'm seriously considering QMUL for an MSc Economics for 2015... Could I ask what your entrance grades were like? I want to see how competitive my grades are and how likely it would be that I would get in...

Hey, how is the area like? I hear there's a lot of crime etc. On few visits there it seemed decent, so I'll like your opinion please

Really? LSE, UCL, etc have a higher rate of people being robbed because its an area where there is bound to be high value things to steal.
QM isn't as bad. Again with any area just need to know the area and where to go.

I don't think you should be worried that much, the worst that could happen generally speaking is being robbed, though it is a campus uni so getting robbed on campus will be quite hard without being spotted by someone.
Do you know anyone who did the BEng in
Electronics with Music and Audio Systems? If so, any info you can give on it?
What's the accommodation like?
What kind of job prospects are you looking at?

I know the library closes at 8pm on Sundays but do you know if there are any computers available after this time? Like for example can students use the computer rooms after 8pm or anything like that?

Hi.
I am planning on applying to QM for MSc. in Finance and Econometrics. I finished my BSc. in Economics and basically I want a different route for masters. How difficult is this course? I have no experience with Finance at all and Math isn't something I love either. I did complete an undergraduate course in Econometrics and got an A, but calculus isn't really my strong point. Is A-level math going to be sufficient?

I am an international student and will be applying all the way form Bangladesh, so please do help!

Do you guys know if I can get exempted from taking the IELTS?

I've emailed the school, but I just wanted to get some quick advice.

I am an international student and I just received a conditional offer to QMUL for biomedical science. I've taken GCSE English (and got and A*), I'm currently taking A Level Literature (which I got a a for AS) and I've sat for CIE AS English Language (and got a b). Also, I've sat for the University of New South Wales International English Competition every year since 2007 and have gotten either a Distinction or a High Distinction.

Do you think I'd still have to take the exam if I make my case clear to the admissions team?
Could you give me information about advantages and disadvantages of Msc Banking and Finance?

How about living cost? Is it more expensive than other side of London and other city such as Leicester and Cardiff?

Hi,

Hope you're well

I'm currently finishing my UG course in Human Resource Management at University of Westminster (Full-Time) and I have 2 years Human Resource Assistant experience in job outside of my studies while studying my course but stopped working there to focus on my final year for UG, I have done my personal statement and have linked it very well and were told it's very good and will give me a big boost for applying to do a masters conversion course in Compting and Informstion System (part-time which is 2 years). The requirement are "a 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in a degree not related to Computer Science or a degree with less than 50% of the modules in Computer Science subjects. Applicants with a good 2:2 will be considered on an individual basis"

I have come to understand I will be getting a 2:2 for my Human Resource Management UG degree and was wondering what is a good 2:2 because I might be getting overall 55% which is still a 2:2 but is it good enough?

Thank you

Hello,

Excuse me but actually I'm not going to answer your questions because I don't have any faintest idea about it 😥 I'm replying to you cause I wanna ask you about the Human Resource Management program.

I'm now in my grade 12th and intend to take a course in HRM. Writing the personal statement for the course really gets on my nerves because I don't know what to write, how to prove to the Admission Committee that I am suitable 😓😓 So can you please give me some advice and recommendations about writing personal statement for HRM course? For example what are the subjects that students of this course should be good at? What characteristics should they have? or anything you think it's helpful for me.

Looking forward to receiving replies from you. Thanks a lot <3
