This has happened to a guy last year (it cost him a uni offer). He had to do a lot of calling up and fight but in the end he won the case and got higher grades eventually. so dont give up

Ah that's a shame I hope he got his place in the end after that. I won't give up, but as I said it's not of critical importance for me.
This all makes it sound like a battleground, but it really isn't.

Get your school to re-cash in AS Maths, the exam board will swiftly rearrange the units and you'll have your A.

No the guy last year did a lot of appealing and got refused quite a few times. Since he kept badgering edexcel they eventually understood their error and rectified it

    And it went up!!

    Dear Cerdic,

I have now heard back from Edexcel who have recalculated your results by releasing the AS units from June 2013.

This means that your AS Further Maths is now graded A.*

It has been made up using:

    FP1 June 14* 74/100

    M1 June 13 *97/100

    M2 June 14 76/100* total = *247 UMS
    ...

Ok. I hate the * in A*. It makes manipulating things in Excel a real pain.

Yeah I'm not really sure why the quote is covered in asterisks. The email itself isn't, don't know why they were added when I copied it.
