If you are happy with Imperial then i think you have nothing to lose by taking a gapyear

    56 in 2 and 53 in 3. I'm fairly sure I could do it next year but I don't feel it would be guaranteed.

    That's reassuring to hear, I hadn't thought it would be unconditional.
