100% not even if its your best mate don't lend them a huge amount of money like that. I lent my mate £85 odd he has since been avoiding my messages and become a moaner saying things like he's embarrassed still the whole avoidance thing is bull ****. These things can make/break a friendship if he's rich and got loads of expensive items he can lend off his parents /sell his stuff if he's desperate. I'd be wary of it.

Definitely no lend. This guy who hung around with us at University (complete waster) tried to lend £50 off of me and I was like "haven't got that much myself". Which was a lie, at that point I had over £11,000 in my account! Just didn't want to give a waster who can't manage his finances any money at all.
