Me too, thankfully I have got about 4 different buses that go to Waterloo from here though the traffic through C.London is awful and by then my 11-15 would have expired and I'll have to pay for buses as well
No but 16+ oyster has free buses as well, if your in full time education

Ah ok... I'm still confused about what they mean when they state they will teach us some 'new mathematics' in the interview. Surely that won't mean an amalgamation of UKMT/GCSE content?

To be honest, I am completely baffled about their email, but I suppose so

The personal interview was fine, the maths interview went awfully...I was so nervous the whole time and lost track of what I was doing from time to time when it came to basic arithmetic They acknowledged the fact that I was nervous though, Oh well...

Good luck for next week! The personal interview is quite relaxed and the maths itself is not well beyond current knowledge nor very difficult to grasp (though I was struggling under the pressure of the moment). Just make sure that you write down ALL the steps (something I did not do initially) and you should be fine.

Thank you very much for your advise. I think I'll also get nervous, because there is soo much pressure. I have prepared for the personal one pretty well, but I am very unclear of what to expect from the maths one. As its a specialist maths school.

Could you possible provide me with area of arithmetic the interview was based upon? I doubt it will be in my interview, but it will help me prepare.

Thank you once again, if your test result was high then I think they'll take you in...

It's fine, and I doubt my test result was high, I bet I just made it in to the interview stage lol. I don't want to reveal too much (just in case), though my maths interview involved expansion and factorisation + solving. Essentially maths you are already familiar with tied within a new concept.

Don't worry, you should be fine! I think I was lucky to get the head teacher, he was very nice, though I felt it was extremely embarrassing every time I was hesitating/answering his questions wrong. It didn't help that I could see the scores being written down!

It was good! My general interview went alright, I had a physics teacher and we basically had an argument about the pointlessness of gcse physics. He really enjoyed it! I got stuck on my daily routine question- it seemed simple but I messed up.

The maths interview was complicated at first. My interviewer was very difficult, so it took me time to understand the method. But once I got to the questions it was good, but i was corrected a few times. I realised they time you once you do a question. I was stuck on Q3 for ages, then she had to guide me

I don't think I'll get a place entirely on my general interview

That's good! Oh, we were timed? I thought those were scores they wrote down I doubt I'll get in tbh. Don't worry about Q3, I'm sure you didn't take that long - it just seems like that in the moment.

It's true the moment was very pressurising, i was gutted because it wasn't even that hard. I let my nerves take over....

So I can't even call it tbh, I'm gonna try elsewhere meanwhile

I know - I needed minor prompting on factorising part of a double bracket, my nerves were that bad I don't want to stay at my current school tbh

Hey, did you get an offer? I got a conditional - A* in Maths, A-A* in Physics. Really surprised!
