yes but the people keep voting them in
Which would imply that the people are quite happy.

Completely, but it's not just the UK. I wouldn't exactly say that Scotland is completely innocent either (they were, for instance, staking the future of their economy on the extraction of materials that are rendering the planet less habitable - if you're reading this, MatureStudent36, your response is predictable so don't bother) and comparatively, I think the misdoings of the UK government pale in comparison with some other countries like the US and China, but yes, the government does disgust me. Often.

Like the one that was overwhelmingly voted against by the electorate?

The sad thing is that the UK doesn't agree on anything by majority, which disables the concept of democracy, which requires an obvious majority, assumed likely on most issues. Somehow, this hasn't happened. Awkward.

nope it was a different system and also the current system is not feasible anymore as it will be tough for any party to get a majority.

    No it wasn't...

How does that make it unfeasible?

yes it was av and stv are two different systems.

fptp is meant to provide stable governments but britain is no longer a two party country so a better system should be implemented

As much as I am disgusted with the way Westminster is running us, we are a democracy. People were well aware that the Tories would target people on benefits and Muslims, that's why they voted them in.

They are different systems, I said they were 'like' each other.

The referendum was after this coalition (which has been very stable it should be noted).

only due to the fixed term act which is stupid as the government is essentially useless at the moment as tories and liberals are trying to distance themselves from each other.

I emigrated a couple of years ago and it's been dreadful watching from the outside. I'd struggle to come back without seeing a lot of progress first.
