I'm not really sure about grades exactly but this is what I did:

What do you mean blood related? Doesn't household mean they don't necessarily have to be related? I think that's a good definition! I put something along the lines of: People who live under the same roof and don't necessarily have to be related e.g. student halls

Same, I put extra ones in case as they don't penalise you for writing more and give you the marks anyway! (decreased stigma, decreased secularisation, and it makes for a good trial run)

    That's good imo!

This was an 'Examine' question so they were looking for as many theories/examples as possible so that's really good yeah!

Assess question, they wanted as much evaluation as possible, so as long as you gave an against for nearly every point made that would be fine. Yeah I wrote about Aries/Shorter march of progress then Firestone/Gittins conflict view to contrast it and the fact that they ignore the positives of adult control to evaluate THAT (e.g. protection from child abuse)

Then I did Opie/Postman/Palmer at the end

I think you didn't do bad to be honest!!
Thanks for helping! Yeh for the marxist point I wrote 8 different things as I was confused..will they look at time or just mark the first 3??

They look at all of them until you get the marks

So I've done my RS Foundations Exam! Yayayay :elefant:

The questions were really straightforward and basically great! I did Situation Ethics, Miracles and Sexual Ethics.

For Sexual Ethics we had to write about one dilemma so I essentially tried to fit all of my points around the 'procreation' issue - let's hope it works out! eek!!

So I did my English Lit exam on Friday:

I picked the nature question and did:
    Tulips & Thistles
    Wuthering Heights & Wodwo

I wrote 9:40 as a little note of when I should stop the poetry question and get on to the play question but when it did get to that time I only had the last paragraph and conclusion left so stupidly I told myself that as I was more confident on the play I should just continue. at 10:00 I finished the poetry... this was detrimental to the play part.

As I was in a really weird room with a woman who wasn't even an invigilator (she's some kind of LSA) and didn't announce the timings so I didn't get to finish my last paragraph (didn't even get to writing quotations from the extract) let alone start my conclusion. I was still writing and people were just casually getting up to go, it was so weird. I'm so mad! I actually wanted to cry.

    :rip: :shot:

What I should have done: started with the play and gotten it out of the way!

Oh god... I completely forgot to update on my last three exams!!

I've been busy umm... watching vampire diaries from the beginning - I'm not going to lie! :') (I'm on holiday okay!!)

I've kind of revised for French but because I already know a lot from the orals I sort of feel like I don't need to! Also as it's my only A2 subjects (and I got an A in AS!) I'm not really feeling the need to work so hard for it (ahh- is that really bad?!?)

Anywho, I'll post exam updates after this post

    ~~ Exam update ~~

    Tuesday 19th of May

I had an RS and Spanish AM clash on this day so I was basically in isolation all day! They wouldn't even let us talk to anyone when they escorted us from one building to the other - it was quite funny actually

SPANISH EXAM - As a native Spanish speaker I found the exam to be okay! However I somehow forgot how to spell a certain word so ahh! And I rambled loads in my essay!!

RS EXAM- As this exam was essentially memorised entirely, tweaked only a little to fit in with the question, it went really well! Honestly one of the only exams I've ever had more than 5 minutes left at the end of!

    Thursday 21st of May

Sociology... well. I was mostly really good for the education part - except in the last question I interpreted 'social groups' as meaning social classes and not other groups such as gender/ethnicities etc!! I hope they don't deduct too much for this! Although the replies from the thread for this exam didn't seem too positive on this mistake, many people did make the same one so...
On the research methods part I completely wung it! (is that the past of wing?!? Winged doesn't sound right for some reason!) but I made a lot of points so I hope it does amount to something!

French exam tomorrow morning. Literally just finished memorising an essay (it's 11:23 pm :\) which I hope to manipulate depending on the question and have been cramming grammar practice all weekend and Friday. I don't know if this will pay off. gaah I should really go to bed...

OMG I remember writing an update on my French exam but it looks like I never did/it never posted (?) Woah 3 weeks late!

    ~ French exam ~

It went surprisingly well! I didn't find any of it particularly distressing and yass! I did make a stupid mistake in writing etats instead of pays (although it said it in the listening, you had to find an alternative due to the preposition) but ehh, it was only one mark (surprisingly way too optimistic about this )

Also I memorised an essay on themes and a really similar question came up so I could tweak it and I am so happy.

Even though I retook a year and so I still have a chance to retake it, I honestly just want to get it out of the way. I got an A at AS so fingers crossed I get a good grade!!

whewwww... okay. So now that I've just returned from my holidays and I've returned to normality from exam result and travel adrenalin, I shall give a quick update on my results and what I am thinking with each of them.

    :elefant:

    ~~ RESULTS UPDATES ~~

    SPANISH AS - A
    Spanish Unit 1 - A
    Spanish Speaking - A

    Note: I'm half Spanish...!

    SOCIOLOGY AS - B
    Sociology Unit 1 - A
    Sociology Unit 2- B

Note: I needed 8 more marks to get an A (96 UMS) in Unit 2! And altogether for the AS I am 6 marks off of an A (160 UMS), so I'm thinking of resitting Unit 2.

    ENGLISH LIT AS- B
    Poetry and Drama Paper (LT1) - C
    Creative Writing Coursework (LT2) - B

Note: I'm honestly so happy that I even managed to pass English as I was so sure that I had failed that I don't even care that I got a C in my paper. A B is more than enough for me ^^

    RELIGIOUS STUDIES AS - B
    RS Unit 1 - C
RS Unit 2 (Mind & Body Paper)- B

Note: I was 4 marks off a B in unit 1, and 6 off an A in Unit 2 and even though I did say I wanted to retake Unit 1, RS stressed me out so much this year that I'm wondering whether it's even worth going through that all over again...
Altogether I was bang on a B (exactly 140 UMS) so I actually don't even want to risk it... I'm happy with a B at RS ^^

    FRENCH A2 - B
    Fren3 (paper)- C
    French Speaking - B

Note: After having gotten an A on both my oral and my paper at AS last year, I can't say that I wasn't a little disappointed this year. I was ONE mark off an A in speaking (gaah) and 2 off a B in my paper, so although one of my teachers was a complete blaargh this year (not saying any more in case she somehow miraculously sees this) I definitely want to have a go at resitting it !

So in the end I decided to only remark my French paper, went up by two points which pushed the actual paper up from a C to a B but did nothing for the overall grade :argh: Oh well...
