Hey, I did both history and geography and also spanish. I would recommend doing a language because it gives you something extra, and it is fun when you can speak to people on holiday.
Geography was my absolute favourite subject ever, it still is even though I took history at A-level instead. It could have been because of my teacher but even now I spend my free time teaching my little brother gcse geography to get him ahead of the class.
However, it does totally depend on what you prefer to do, geography has both physical and human so is kinda science with some history elements in it. I would ask teachers at your school and just go for whatever you think. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy whatever you choose

A language is definitely worth taking as when you go to university they will look at that status.
I use to hate Drama/ Performing Arts, now I absolutely love it! It’s so fun and enjoyable. Plus, it’s hilarious seeing the teacher mess around so much!
I love my Drama teacher, she’s lovely.

History, you have to remember a LOAD of facts, Geography is easier and more if you want to go into the world and all that, but if you’re taking media and Drama, and Business, I recommend you take History. I regretted not taking it as it’s more useful than it seems, but you have to have a good memory.

What exam board are you taking for these subjects?

I have much experience with GCSE so contact me if you have any more questions, or worries! I'd be willing to offer much help!

I have a week to decide what I want to take for my GCSEs and at the moment this is what I have

    Have to take these 3:
    English
    Maths
    Triple Science

I dunno whether to do History or Geography?
Is Spanish worth taking? If I take Spanish then I'd have to take either History or Geo, but if I don't then I can take both.

    Media Studies (Definitely Taking)
    iMedia (Definitely Taking)

    Business Studies
    Performing Arts
    Music
    Psychology
^Now out of these 4 I have to pick one more and a reserve...? Anyone done any of subjects above that could give any advice?
i took psychology and I find it pretty easy and enjoyable, but maybe that's becuase im so interested. I hardly revised and I got an a in the last mock.
Spanish is only worth taking if your interested in learning a language in my opinion, else it's utter hell.
like some others have said, only take history if you don't midn writing essays and remembering LOTS Of info.

Hey I think that Music GCSE is worth taking as a subject but bare in mind that it is very hard and you'll have to put a lot of effort into it. you have to listen to 12 sets of work from different eras. you learn more than you can imagine and you HAVE TO play at least one instrument or more, including your voice, of course. you have to have a passion for music and you have to trust in yourself and never let yourself down even when it gets hard. I have a Mock Exam on 2 days from now and it's being sent off to the exam board but don't let that work you up , because you just have to put the effort in. You can totally Ace it if you believe in it, and that's why I took it as a subject, and i don't regret it one bit.

Hope you find this helpful and remember that it's always your choice. Don't let the people around you change what you think.
