I wouldn't know. Not an area of my interest.
Than be quite AK and let OP talk about her residence all she likes. I would love to do this for Somalia too but sadly never been there.

    Hey!
    You're from Côte d'Ivoire?
How is there? Do you speak French?

I've recently seen Aya de Youpougon. Have you seen it? If so, is it a realistic representation of Côte d'Ivoire?

What is the literary culture like in Africa? Does Africa have any interesting literature that is not available to most due to restrictions, etc.
There are many great African writers whose work is easily accessible to anyone around the world (thank you online shopping). Africa is a continent so there are many countries to choose from. Some African countries are a fan of oral history and oral poetry but that doesn't mean that there isn't any literature available either. Let me know if you would like a list of writers, I can give you a few recommendations depending on what you like to read.

    Yup and for the best
People don't know some parts of Africa are quite diverse.

Ah but apparently it's not the same. Senegal's always been great.
    Gambia has craycray Yahya Jammeh.
