    "Stan" means country or place I believe. So:

    Uzbekistan -> Uzbek
    Turkmenistan -> Turkmen
    Pakistan -> ...Pak?
    "Pak" would probably make sense.

    "Pakistan" actually means "land of the pure", and so the word "Pak" would be an adjective to describe someone who is pure, and used to refer to the people of that place. This logic works with pretty much any country that ends in "stan".

    I guess in the case of Pakistan it's not really used because it sounds like a racial slur.

    Though in Pakistan it would be common to hear someone call themselves "Pak" (pure), just after having a shower and before praying for example.
