interestingly the shopping experience at Tesco is about to change everywhere, the new CEO doesn't think we need a choice of 224 types of air freshners
Anyway the issue is Aldi/Lidl has shown you can streamline your business so much and get such good cost to sell ratios that they can sell produces which are cheaper AND better quality (seriously. try some Aldi/Lidl own brand stuff, even basic things like tinned tomatoes, bout 35p and yet won against brands like Napoli, Cook Italian etc). Big supermarkets have been complacent, Aldi/Lidl have been here for decades, they just didn't see the danger until it was too late.
