I firmed Dundee today on UCAS. Roll on September!

(Have to get the grades first, of course).

I firmed Cardiff on Thursday. Let's both work hard and get the grades we need. Then, roll on September!

I've just watched the father of one of the British victims on the BBC and I have just started crying. What a brave man.

Yeah, pretty good.

Loved the bit just now where he said that Thatcher had the foresight to stay out of coalition for the long run but "all i know is that leaders of this party only ever get toppled from the inside.. managed regicide". True of Thatcher and half true of both Major and Cameron.

That was quite dramatic - the actor does have a very Cameron-y feel to him. As does Brown. They picked a very sinister guy for Clegg though. Mandelson's perfect lol

Cameron's momentary glance upwards to the portrait of Churchill was also a highlight moment imo

Have to say that i liked the split within the Lib Dems. Personally i'm with Clegg, in a 2 party system by default your opportunities to get any of your agenda through are limited and so even at the behest of tuition fees or electoral damage in one parliament, i think he was right to actually accomplish something and history may judge him more kindly than we do now.

Personally i think all parties have learnt how to handle negotiations much better and i imagine the Libs will definitely get Lords reform this time around and additionally i think they have changed my opinion of them from wet socialists to a credible party of potential governance. Over the next two elections post-Clegg i think that they'll build and be better for the experiences they have gained, perhaps in time transplanting one of the two parties for the first time in over a century (granted their neither right enough to do that to the Tories and Labour have demographics on their side).

"Coalition" was very interesting. I'm still of the opinion the best move for the real-life Lib Dems would've been to let a Conservative minority fall flat on its arse given what was on the table. Does Paddy's last minute intervention have any grounding in reality?

In other news: Hell Yes he can, as YouGov poll after the Non-Debates puts Ed Miliband on course not only for Downing Street but an effective majority with 323 seats. Will be very interesting to see if this trend is matched by other pollsters, but I think it does have a basis in reality.
