Fran Malecha, the President and CEO of Compass Minerals UK Ltd. which operates the UK's biggest rock salt mine and is Britain's largest supplier of natural rock salt.

This House has been involved in the salt business for a long time and it seems fair to give the appropriate recognition to the biggest suppliers, doesn't it?

Interesting but personally I think we should instead recognise one of the industrial giants of the steam engine business. This House understands the vital importance of hot air.

Or maybe we could honour Maphhew Davies, a farmer from Bristol, for services to bull**** production?

    JK Rowling
Her works have enriched this country culturally and enriched the Treasury through tourism and taxes. Not to mention here huge charitable contributions.
Not a fan, but agreed. I bet it brings in more direct tourism than the monarchy as well.

How exactly do you intend to double up the "Dame"?
    Dame squared?

I'd like to nominate Jonny Wilkinson, given he was so cruelly overlooked last year.

I definitely would not give one to Spock's distant cousin John Redwood, the first alien to serve in Government.

Excellent. Let's do that then, much more deserving than Murray and Hamilton.

Unfortunately it won't make a difference. Should any by-elections arise though then i imagine the more local electorate will view those parties more negatively.
