The man makes a fair point, this won't be right across the board. However i do disagree with generalisations of this nature as it alienates the tiny minority.

    He shouldn't of resigned.

Give him a knighthood. Finally someone speaks some truth. If this were a white person, he would have already been in court for hate speech.

Absolutely nothing wrong with his statements at all.

What an absolute load of ****e. I'm sorry but Pakistanis are perhaps the most integrated ethnic group of the many in this country.
As clearly evidenced by the one of the highest unemployment and crime rates of any ethnic group.

Having to resign for telling the truth, that is what the left have brought upon in this country- political correctness at its best!

Now, though his comments may have been perceived as offensive, I, as a native Pakistani who travels frequently to the UK to see family, found the bulk of his statement to be correct. I am reproducing it here:

“They talk to themselves and do not engage with the wider community. They are living in the UK not Pakistan. Whilst being rightly proud of their Pakistani culture and heritage they need to explain better and engage more with their non-Pakistani brothers and sisters if they want their children to succeed as British Pakistani citizens.”

Firstly, what is written here is utterly true. Secondly, nothing in here, even if it were not true, merits the man's resignation.

I want to know your thoughts on this. Is the British Pakistan community too insular? Do you have personal experiences to this effect? What are the implications of this for the upward mobility of young British Pakistanis?
It doesn't matter whether it is true or not, he is the Queen's representative. She has about 100 Lords Lieutenant. When was the last time you heard any one of them expressing any newsworthy view on any subject whatsoever?

They don't, because it drags the Queen into politics. Therefore he had to go.
