A Suzuki Bandit is a great tourer bike, the SV650 is great also but its more of a sporty riding position and you may find that uncomfortable if are riding all day, every day. I highly recommend the BMW 650GS, but its probably out of your budget
Just remember that if you don't get the bike restricted and you are involved in an accident, they will check and then you will be prosecuted for having no insurance, that means 6 points and if you are a new rider the DVLA will take your licence away. The bike will be confiscated and you will have impound fees as well, all very expensive.
I rode a restricted bike for 2 years and the only thing you cant do is a quick overtake and if you value your life, don't do them. One of the youngest people to get a RoSPA gold (the highest civilian motorcycle qualification) did it on a restricted bike and its not an easy test but living proof that you don't need all that horsepower, just good riding skills.
How are you feeling?
