It's because, unlike you, they have adapted to social norms. You might think you're better than they are for not using slang, but really your just not joining into your age groups word usage.

You're right, lets learn together. The first lesson is break free of the herd mentality and saying things you don't know, become a master of yourself, man.

OP you ARE the tsr stereotype. I hope you realise this
At least I'm not one of those kids that ONLY talk about their grades/school/oxbridge application, I consider those below me on the social chain, by a fair amount, still.

Yes but who gets to decide what these social norms are?

Also, if those popular people are supposed to be the "alpha leaders" of society that everyone aims for, shouldn't they have the confidence / self-belief to question why they should dumb down with stupid slang and behave stupidly...?

It follows, just like I said in conclusion 1, that they are not really "alpha leaders", they are conformists and clowns that people hail because they are entertaining, and they rely heavily on keeping to social norms.

What I'm saying is, not adhering to these norms, saying no to this cringey slang, having your own group of well-deserved friends who you can have intellectual and meaningful experiences with, is the most noble path in life, and the one that could lead you to being a TRUE leader and alpha, true to these principles in both behaviour and mindset. The media should be encouraging this, not being the highschool jock or clown.

Well not really, because I could say you're not a true leader or alpha, because your small group of friends (you and your dad) may speak intellectualy but everyone else isnt.

You just dont wnna conform to social norms because u think ur special, and with the help of all those extra chromosomes u prolly is

You know the types that are good looking, go to lots of parties, are popular, etc you get what I mean. Even a lot of otherwise intelligent ones.

Why do they all spread cancer like ...

    vines
    "sho"
    emojis
    bruh
    "dead fam"
    instagram
    and endless, endless slang.

See, I would think that the people who rise to the "top" of society, even if at a teenager level, rise because they have certain qualities of character, which make people respect them as leaders and "alphas". These qualities are: courage, not caring what other people think, being comfortable with yourself and therefore being a natural and charismatic talker, and so on...

Instead, the people that our society seems to favour the most seem to conform to very, very specific and narrow standards, and are all, in the end of it, the same old thing. Instagram, emojis, Reading festival.... shouldn't the leaders of society be intelligent people curious about their own interests?

It makes me draw two conclusions. The first one is that these people are not really "leaders", they mostly lack the qualities that SHOULD make them popular and successful among peers, but had the benefit of being elected as leaders by a society which doesn't know what a leader IS, and think that they need to conform to the same "emoji-instagram" formula as dictated above, and they do, and society rewards them as if everything is genuine. They are not leaders, they are part of society, a herd that is being lead by the TRUE leaders, which is- the media's standards.

The Second conclusion is that ONCE you become popular, or have the qualities that can make you a cool person, your mindset changes, or you find, due to your fearless expression of your thoughts, that emojis ARE the best way to make a point, nandos IS cheeky and in general, all that you see popular kids do is, objectively, right, and what humans should thrive for.

Inb4 calling me a lonely loser, I'm already aware I'm a social outcast and have pretty much always been.

Right and you are insulting me with that avatar and ability to write in English?

I argue that being a leader is a transcendal thing because leaders DEFINE social norms. Even if society was a pure bunch of hedonists (not a bad description of today's post modern society) and you were that one Platonic guy who believes in things like objective morality, the existence of absolute good, and so on... you are still equipped with human social skills that should allow you to dominate society and change their mindset to follow YOUR social norms. Unless, of course, that society has it's own hedonist leaders with a social intelligence comparable to yours, and you cannot displace them, easily.

Well, you wouldn't be leading anyone, but you could still have the qualities that would make people follow you, and which are defined much more clearly than in 99% of the population.

So are the current tops of society leaders or not? One thing for sure is that they are hedonists, but are they hedonists BECAUSE they are leaders and they chose it to be the right path (or IT IS THE RIGHT PATH!) or because they are simply following social norms defined by some other previous leader, in order to get girls and self validation ?

With what? I made this easy enough. Conclusion 1 or 2. ?

I'm not complaining about being unpopular with people / women, I have **** social intelligence and intuitively can't tell what to do, (I probably also have some autism..), but if I think rationally about socialising I can be quite successful, and I have a large group of friends and a girlfriend.

I'm just trying to discuss, rationally, why the "successful" people in society are hailed successful and why women like them. You should actually read my post, and not just come to conclusions straight away.
    Both conclusions!

Like people who see themselves as social leaders in their communities haven't always had specific jargon. Things sure were hip and jive back in the 70s, before all this "bae" crap started.

The 60s and 70s are part of post-modernist society that gave rise to highschool jocks, highschool Zacks, personality cults of musicians and sportsmen etc.
