I take my hat off to these people, but have never yet known someone with ME/CFS to get more than a few years in medicine (it's rather more intrusive/activity-linked than virtually any other chronic illness). Ditto degenerative conditions, or ones linked to stress that cannot be mitigated(Original post by Anonymous)
you'd be surprised on my course actually - there are people with some serious chronic conditions that have periods of remission and flares
I'm sure some of them willI guess they are determined ONE day they will get there
For sure, but some moreso than others. Took me 12 years just to complete a degree that typically had like 6-10 contact hours a week, and that's learning to live well within my means and compromising on all manner of lifestyle bizzles!I think you can have a chronic condition as long as its under control..
Really not the end of the world, trust me, so long as student services people are halfway reasonable and you are diligent about keeping them, plus the department, in the loop. I was in and out of uni like 4 times!would have to leave this year and start again next year
Good job, best you can dotrying whatever I can to improve my health including taking medications which iv always refused in the past.. :P
