    I'd actually suggest not stopping too often. Once you're on the motorway it's easy to just drive and keep going, provided the traffic isn't too heavy and the weather is OK. I drove 750 miles on Sunday, I stopped for lunch after 100 miles then the next 650 I only stopped for fuel. Find a comfortable cruising speed, have some good music on, and just go...

    Ive used a fair few systems (Work used to equip the trucks with Garmin systems), and the best one Ive ever used is Google Driving Directions on my android. It has never led me astray and I find it to not only be quicker to search and recalculate routes than pretty much every stand alone GPS ive ever used it also has one of the best most intuitive interfaces.
